Ios - Chora (Village)

The island's capital provides services that meet every need of the traveler. The country is built amphitheatrically on the floor above the port. There are monuments in Chora indicative of the history of the past, such as the remains of the old wall that once surrounded the ancient city and the ruins of the old castle near the church of Panagia Gremiotissa. The Archaeological Museum of Ios is located in the City Hall building. The open-air theater "Odysseas Elytis" hosts during the summer months, musical and theatrical events with amazing views of Santorini and the Aegean.
